Nokia UK : The Nokia N8 Billboard photo competition!

Nokia UK today launched N8 smartphone photo competition for UK residents, with the grand prize of a huge version of winning photo on a billboard near winners house as well as £1000 to spend. Check out the details after break.

The Nokia N8 billboard competition opens on the 10^th March and runs for four weeks, closing on the 7^th of April and people can enter the competition by visiting facebook.com/nokia.uk.

Nokia Ovi Store and Ovi Store mobile client updated with couple of improvements!

Today Nokia's Ovi Store web and Ovi Store mobile client updated with few improvements. The Ovi Store client update is available for S60 3rd Edition, 5th Edition and Symbian^3 devices.

For Symbian S60 3rd Edition, 5th Edition and Symbian^3 devices Ovi Store Client updated to version 2.06.00042, 1.09 (8) & 1.09 (8) respectively. The update is said to bring some speed and performance improvement to the client on all the devices, resolving some Nokia’s back-end compatibility issues.

Over the Ovi Store’s web front there are few improvements:

Searching now improved
Now you can use your Email as your Username
Optional device selection now enabled
Few addon’s for Ovi publishers

Today Nokia Betalabs team released a new updated version of (Series 40) Foursquare app adding comments and photos support. Now you can view & add comments and photos to checkin.

"Foursquare is a popular location-based mobile platform that makes cities easier and more interesting to explore. Foursquare for Series 40 is a mobile java based application which works across a range of Nokia devices and gives millions more people access to the exciting world of foursquare. Share your location with friends by checking in to places while collecting points and virtual badges."

Compatibility:

Works on most S40 devices. (Devices tested: 5310, 6600 fold, 7230, C3-00, C3-01, X3-02)
S60/Symbian^3 version is available to collect feedback from a broader audience

Check out this video showing 6 Homescreen on Symbian^3 OS, achieved by custom firmware. Its looks like Symbian modding community is not in mood to wait for PR2.0, they have released a modded version of Symbian^3 OS, where you can have up to 6 homescreens along with some other cool features.

Couple of weeks ago we saw the Nokia E6 first leak, with the rumors that Nokia is going to announce it in MWC. Well nothing much happened. Here is another leaked image of Nokia E6 clearing up the dust.

The first image leaked over Internet is dull to clarify the OS and touchsceen rumor, But this second image of E6 is much clear to tell the story itself – You can clearly spot an updated user interface with big icon/widget – It looks like its running Symbian^3 operating system with 4 homescreen and with sightly bigger Icons or Widgets . The size of icon/widget is big enough to clarify its a Touchsceen device.
