Introducing ‘Nokia Shoot & Tag’ : Automatic scene-tagging video app!

Posted: 14 Mar 2011 05:40 AM PDT

Today Nokia Betalabs team released a new experimental app ‘Nokia Shoot & Tag’. Its a video recording application incorporates automatic scene-tagging technology developed at Nokia Research Center, Beijing.

“When filming videos with Shoot & Tag, the video tagging technology automatically recognizes shifts or changes in the background images being recorded and will tag the change as a new scene or chapter in your video.  After you finish recording, you can quickly browse through your video’s scenes by simply clicking on the pre-organized scene frames located on the left side of the screen. Nokia Shoot & Tag is an evolution of the Nokia Video Cuts gallery application also available at Nokia Beta Labs.”

Application is currently available for Symbian^3 and S60 5th Edition smartphones. If you want to test it out  please download the application and share your feedback with the Betalabs team.

Nokia at SXSW re-launched IdeasProject, where you can submit ideas, build on others’ ideas, and connect with big thinkers, it’s a online community for everyone  to share and collaboratively create applications for mobile platforms.

Nokia IdeasProject is a web-based, innovation community where application enthusiast (consumers, developers, anyone) can join, share and collaboratively create applications for mobile platforms. Participants can create or respond to innovation "challenges" and work together to solve the challenges.

  • Create ideas
  • Build on other people's ideas
  • Evolve current ideas to ensure they meet their potential
  • Review other people's ideas and provide constructive feedback
  • Customize your profile and personal interface
  • Learn from experts and one another
  • Find people with similar interests and areas of expertise

The first challenge is called "Apps That Change the World". This challenge asks the community to share their ideas for ways to use mobile applications to make a positive change in the world. Based on the best ideas shared, Nokia will produce a free appplication that will be distributed on the Ovi Store.
