Nokia is running a mobile film making competition name – Nokia Shorts 2011. Your chance to get $5,000 and two Nokia N8's to produce the full version of your film. Not only that but your shorts will get a full debut screening at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2011, plus $10,000 cash prize!

Nokia is calling all film makers, script writers, innovators, video producers and everyone in between to put on their creative hats and come up with an entry to our latest competition, Nokia Shorts! http://vimeo.com/nokia

All you need to do is to create a video pitch of an idea for a short film or video, in no longer than two minutes. Videos should be accompanied with a 100 word description and submitted to Nokia's Vimeo channel, be as creative as you like!

All submissions will be judged by Shorts and the best 8 entries will be selected to receive $5,000 to produce the full version on two, Nokia N8's. The best of the final 8 will be given $10,000!

Nokia Situations beta updated with new features!

Nokia Betalabs experimental app 'Nokia Situations' updated to v2.51, Update brings many new features with couple of improvements and fixes. Its a utility app that automatically senses the situation you are in and adapts your device to it according to your predefined preferences.

“Nokia Situations helps your device tie more into your life. You can manually define situations, like "In a meeting", "Sleeping", "Watching TV", or "Playing with kids"and define how you want the device to act. With the application running in the background, your device automatically senses the situation you are in and adapts to it according to your preferences.”

Whats new:

Application action allows selection of several applications
Added possibility to close launched applications when situation changes
Added possibility to close browser when situation changes
Time & WLAN conditions now support multiple selections (remove conditions by long tapping the condition)
Timed option added as in profiles
Small UI changes (long-tap context menus & direct actions on items)
“no change” -option added to Bluetooth, theme & powersave actions
Network location condition improved -> Cell id limit increased to 100 -> Added possibility to remove cells from existing network location condition
Bookmark action fix (open bookmark correctly when browser is already started)
Removed background service autostart from sis-installation (caused unexpected problems where settings could not be accessed properly without device restart)

Notes:

Available only for Symbian^3 devices
Calendar condition will be reset in this update, application & bookmark actions may be corrupted
