PR 1.1 Firmware v013.016 is out for Nokia C7

Just couple of minutes ago Nokia C7 gets PR 1.1 firmware update v013.016. Its previous software version was v012.004.

You can update your Nokia C7 firmware over OTA (Over-The-Air) or via Nokia's Software Updater application, Ovi Suite on Windows PC . The PR 1.1 update is about 6.8 MB over the air download. The Nokia C7 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), but its always a good idea to backup all your personal data before updating the firmware. The official Changelog is still unknown, we will update the post once we find it.

Updates via AAS: Updates include a noticeable improvement in overall performance (e.g. smoother scrolling and transitions), support for landscape in the dialler (call) application and a number of bug fixes.

Note: It may take some time before the new firmware is available for your region.

Nokia Betalabs: Ovi Suite beta updated to v3.0.0.290

Quick heads-up, Nokia Ovi Suite beta updated to v3.0.0.290, Its previous version was v3.0.0.284. This new version comes with simplified contacts synchronization and critical fixes to device connectivity.

Changelog:

Simplified sync of contacts to 0vi.com
Switch to syncing contacts directly between device and Ovi
Important fixes to connecting the device and computer

You can get the update notification over 'software update' icon over 'Ovi Suite Home' page or you can manually check for the updates, by just clicking on 'Software Updates' button at 'Tools' Tab. The update is about 72 MB in size.

Video: Nokia Empowering Communities – ‘Eyes on Africa’

Get a snapshot of Nokia’s work in Africa, and the ways they seek to create locally relevant and innovative solutions enhancing daily lives.

Eyes on Africa is a series of four films to help explain some of the work Nokia is up to in Africa. Here are the first two videos from Nokia Conversations.

The first film is an introduction to Nokia's work in Africa, and the ways in which they seek to create locally relevant solutions to knit with local culture, communities and entrepreneurs.

The second film is about using mobiles to empower communities. Around 70 per cent of Africans belong to special groups called Merry-go-rounds. These groups meet regularly to share traditions, knowledge and help each other.
